Aquatics Programs
Aquatic programs are offered to disabled and non-disabled individuals age six-months to adult. Group and private "Learn to Swim" Classes, "Adaptive Aquatics Swim Lessons and Swim Team Training for our students and open to the general public.
We also offer the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Exercise Class which is designed to promote cardiovascular and respiratory fitness, joint range of motion, coordination and balance, body awareness, flexibility and fun! This program is open to our senior population as well as the general public.
Our own SMSC Triton's Swim Team (ages 8-70) competes in area swim meets yearly.
Recreational swim schedule:
Year round swim hours
Tuesday and Thursday 11:30AM - 12:30 PM
Summertime swim hours (June 7th through August 23rd)
Open Saturdays 10 - 2PM
(Pool is closed on Saturday July 5th for Independence Day and July 19 for swim meet)
Fee is $3.00 per person ~ children under the age of three are free and children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult in the pool.
All individuals needing physical assistance must be accompanied by an adult in the pool.
Learn to swim program:
We offer small group lessons for children six months to adults. Classes are taught twice a week Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs. The fee is $85.00 for 8 (1/2 hr) lessons.
Spring classes will begin in April and summer classes will begin in June. This summer we will be offering Saturday private swim lessons. $32 for (1/2 hr) or $55 per hour.

Adaptive Aquatics program:
Adaptive swim lessons for participants with physical or developmental disabilities who require a lower teacher / student ratio. These classes are a part of the learn to swim program and follow the same session schedule, registration process, and class fees.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program:
A warm water, range of motion aquatic fitness program sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation that is designed specifically for individuals who have Arthritis or experience other physical pain. Class times are Tuesday & Thursday, 10:30 - 11:30AM the cost is $6.00 per class or $50.00 for a ten visit pass. The first class is free. (Each participant must complete an information packet, signed by a physician, before entering class.) Packets are available by calling the Aquatics Manager or by contacting the Arthritis Foundation.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteer swim coaches for our Special Olympics Swim Team. If you or someone you know would like to make a difference with a very special group of swimmers, please contact the Aquatics Manager at 619/ 442-1919 ext.3114
We hope that you will come out to enjoy our beautiful warm water pool and experience any of the variety of classes. The entire aquatic staff and management are trained and certified American Red Cross lifeguards and swim instructors. It is the mission of our facility to provide our participants with an aquatic experience that is safe, fun and educational.
